Featuring a 12.1 Megapixel sensor for large, detailed prints, and DIGIC 4 image processing, the PowerShot SX130 IS allows all the family to record special moments in outstanding quality. The 12x optical zoom ranges from wide angle (28mm) to telephoto (336mm), making the camera equally ideal for wide-angle group shots and taking on sightseeing trips.
Canon’s integrated optical Image Stabilizer offers a three-stop advantage, making it easier to take great shots in low light with long exposures, and reducing the blur associated with camera-shake when shooting distant subjects at the telephoto end of the zoom.
The large, 7.5cm (3.0”) LCD screen, with a 230k dot resolution and optional on-screen Hints & Tips makes it easy to navigate the enhanced menu system and to compose the perfect shot. A wide viewing angle also enables shooting from awkward angles, as well as sharing the results with groups of friends immediately after the picture is taken.

The PowerShot SX130 IS supports 720p HD video with stereo sound, allowing users to immediately switch from photos to high-quality video and back again with one convenient, compact camera. A quiet zoom motor allows the full lens focal range to be exploited whilst recording, and continuous autofocus ensures that moving subjects are sharp – providing the perfect tool for capturing school events, parties and family gatherings where it may be difficult to follow all of the action.
This model supports the new SDXC memory cards, enabling up to 2TB of video and full-resolution stills to be stored without needing to change card.
Easy to use for all the family
Any member of the family can achieve great results thanks to a range of intelligent shooting features and creative modes. With Easy Mode, the camera becomes the perfect point-and-shoot, with most buttons disabled and icons removed from the screen to make it easier to compose and capture the best possible shot, without worrying about settings.
Smart Auto with Scene Detection Technology identifies up to 28 different shooting conditions, automatically adjusting the settings to produce the best possible result. Smart Flash Exposure controls flash levels according to shooting conditions, providing the right amount of flash to ensure perfectly exposed shots in all situations, from dimly lit rooms to bright sunlight.
Additional powerful features help to capture split-second moments with ease. Servo AF and AE automatically adjusts focus and exposure when tracking a moving subject, while Smart Shutter with Face Detection technology ensure great group photos, controlling the shutter with a wink, a smile or after a new face enters the frame. Blink detection also warns the user when one of the subjects has their eyes closed, allowing a better image to be shot.
For confident photographers who want more input into how they capture their images, full manual control allows them to individually control shutter speed and aperture to shoot with their chosen settings and create their own effects.
As well as providing help in capturing great images as seen through the lens, the PowerShot SX130 IS also features a range of creative modes to add a new dimension to photos without requiring additional post-production. Miniature Effect is available in both movie and still image capture, mimicking the effects of a tilt-shift lens to give subjects a model-like profile. Fish-eye Effect replicates the distortion of a fish-eye lens, adding a new angle to portrait and landscape shots. Super Vivid boosts colour saturation, while Poster Effect creates a more retro feel to images, allowing users to make their photos really stand out from the crowd.

Up to 2GB of personal storage capacity is available, creating enough room for hundreds of high-quality images.
