VACANCY: ADMINISTRATIVE CLERK
INDUSTRY: LEGAL SERVICES/OFFICE OF AN ATTORNEY-AT-LAW
OFFICE LOCATION: OLD HOPE ROAD
SALARY: $40,000 per month or $10,000 per week
GENDER OF PREFERRED CANDIDATE: MALE OR FEMALE (Clarifying since there is a perception among some that the administrative and clerical fields are female ones)
DUTIES:Typing and preparing correspondence and other documents
Maintaining and creating administrative files
Maintaining confidentiality of correspondence
Distribution of mail
Informing Attorney of incoming correspondence
Answering telephones, sending and receiving faxes
Maintaining petty cash
Maintaining log book of all correspondence and receipts
Reviewing and editing correspondence
Meeting and greeting visitors
Responsible for keeping work area clean and tidy
Necessary Proficiencies: Excellent understanding of the use of Microsoft Word and the Windows operating system
Excellent typing skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Excellent spelling and spell checking skills
Excellent proof-reading skills to ensure all out-going correspondence is error-free and to reduce instances of reprinting
Qualifications:A minimum of 3 CXC/CSEC Subjects preferably including: Mathematics, English Language, Principles of Business, Office Administration, Electronic Document Preparation and Management
Previous administrative, clerical or secretarial experience would be an asset
