Phone was purchased from Blackberry store in Sovereign and is two weeks out of warranty

Overview
The message Initialization Failed appears on the Home screen of the BlackBerry smartphone.
The network status indicator on the Home screen displays SOS, which indicates that the BlackBerry smartphone can only connect to the wireless service provider's network to place emergency calls.
The issue may occur consistently every time the device is rebooted or it may occur intermittently.
Cause
Cause 1: Although the SIM card is inserted in the BlackBerry smartphone, the SIM card is not properly inserted or aligned.
Cause 2: The SIM card is of the BlackBerry smartphone is damaged.
Resolution 1:
Remove the battery from the BlackBerry smartphone.
Remove the SIM card from the BlackBerry smartphone.
Insert the SIM card so that it fits snugly in the SIM card slot. The SIM card should fit snugly enough so that it doesn't slide around easily within the SIM card slot.
Insert the battery into the BlackBerry smartphone.
If Initialization Failed appears on the Home screen of the BlackBerry smartphone once it has finished starting up, it may be necessary to repeat steps 1 through 4 until the SIM card is properly adjusted in the SIM card slot.
If the issue persists or continues to occurs intermittently, the SIM card or the SIM card slot may be damaged.
Resolution 2:
Check the SIM card for visible signs of scratches, damage or deformations. If possible, compare the SIM card to a SIM card that is known to be working correctly.
Check the leads of the SIM card for discoloration. Oxidation of the leads can cause this discoloration and prevent the SIM card from working consistently. Oxidation can sometimes occur by leaving the SIM card out of the device for extended periods of time.
Test the SIM card in a working BlackBerry smartphone.
If the SIM card causes the same problem in multiple BlackBerry smartphones, the SIM card may need to be replaced.
If the SIM card does not cause the same problem in other BlackBerry smartphones, the SIM card slot in the BlackBerry smartphone may have been damaged.
Into the affected device, insert a different SIM card that has been confirmed to work consistently for another BlackBerry smartphone.
If a different SIM card works consistently in the affected device, the affected SIM card may need to be replaced.
If a different SIM card experiences the same issue in the affected device, the SIM card slot in the BlackBerry smartphone may have been damaged.
If the SIM card needs to be replaced, contact the wireless service provider.
Resolution 3:
If the issue only occurs on the affected BlackBerry smartphone, regardless of the SIM card that is used and the SIM card does not cause the issue while inserted into other BlackBerry smartphones, the SIM card slot of the affected BlackBerry smartphone may be damaged.
