Same happened here and i find that its right after upgrading to 3.55 firmware, its all over the internet that ps3 fucked up a lot of systems, xbox 360 is da way to go

right now ma ps3 turn on after i keep trying, i use geohot 3.55jb and enjoying crazy games off the system, mw2 and fifa 11 works great online with it too...the problem still exist tho as ma system turns off occasionally but i wudnt hav jailbroken it if sony didnt send out an update that messed up ma system, its like a revenge thing lol *now playing mafia II backup =]
