Did the previous owner die? Why is it locked to icloud?

Seems us human cant forget a password. .but worse case it might be stolen..but not necessarily

Been looking at this thread, lemme add a few words, I have a friend who died and his iPad mini is icloud locked, I knew that it was his before he died, and his family asked me to help out on it,

case number 2, because of apples user agreement, one needs an account to activate an I device, however, not everyone who desires an ipad or iphone also desires to actually be buying apps from apple so in setting up the idevice, any password can be used but not necessarily remembered as it may not have been something the previous owner was used to doing or even used frequently (older people or young kids are an example)

(Example, my sister has an ipad she bought directly from apple, because it is what her professional peers have, blue she doesn't use it because the real brag rights is in owning the device and complaining how much you prefer something else, so here is like new with no apps at all on it, but she OWNS an ipad)

The point, although the device could be stolen, there are legitimate cases for devices having icloud locks and passwords not being available, best advice, if the seller has a good rating on shopinja then  take your chances, as for the icloud, that was declared straight up in the sales ad

If you have a case of knowing that the advertised item is stolen, then it's a situation for the mods / police, otherwise, accusations on someone's sale thread without any reference / proof is pure speculation, especially for sellers who have tried to build a good reputation,  and should be avoided

Im's are available for  questions to the seller, especially if they are of a nature that  can make the sale thread  long and irrevelant

^All of that above is so unnecessary. The seller just need to explain, how and why the ipad mini icloud account is locked. The whole heap a assumptions not helping anyone.

I think you all should mine own business unless u either want the thing to buy or have proof that it is stolen as zeldo said provide it to the police or the mods and stop mess up the ppl dem reputation.

There could be sooooooooooo many reasons as to y this devices is the way it is also could be originally stolen and the seller got it legitimately. being conned or misled into buying it especially via eBay Amazon etc. and is just trying to recover even som of the loss it's only human. We don't know wat the case maybe and the seller is not willing to talk about it so if u r not interested move on an stop loud up d man ting unless u hav PROOF it's stolen giv it to the police n don't giv the seller a heads up to run iDIOTS.

Now let's get down to business will u be willing to take $8,000. I need the housing, touch and battery and accessories if there are any seeing that the circuit board is no good.

PS* personally if I find one of these n it has a iCloud lock I would try to return it, if I can't find the owner I will be selling it right here on SHOPINJa.com to the highest bidder. I have lost one before n I know is has no use to anybody but me n if the founder came fwd I would be more than willing to "reward" them $8,000 for the return. Life goes on folks get over it.
