I have two used but working Dual Core CPU's for AMD Laptops:

Both use Socket S1 and are for laptops only. They each come as is, just the CPU but in protective packaging.
Tested and pulled from some DV series laptops I am working on.

is it compatible with the hp pavilion dv 6405us?

what CPU is in yours right now? i see it should be a Athlon x2 64 which uses the  same socket and has the same specs of a Turion x2 that i'm selling so it should work.
 also, what's the prob with your laptop?

okay, I checked and the AMD version of this laptop does come with this CPU but a slower one.
is there a problem with your laptop or are you just looking to upgrade?

Problem with laptop constantly turning off and on can't even make it to booting screen tech say processor gone bad

does the caps lock or num lock lights flash when you turn it on? they should to let you know what component is bad.
by the way, what CPU is in it now?

Not quit sure it they flash wasn't paying attention on it all I know is that it all light up fan start to spin and u can hear hard drive staring up the it shut off with a click sound then turn on and off repeatedly, and its a AMD pin socket I forgot the number

-unplug adapter and battery then hold power button for 45secs then try booting it again with adapter only
-reseat the ram or try booting with only one stick
-if it's already open, reseat the CPU (leave it out for a few mins and get the model num), that fixed a DV series laptop I once worked on
-take note of the led lights when you power it on
