Put cars on your watch list and you will be alerted when the bidding is about to start and you will be able to see the highest PRE-BID price i.e. the starting auction price.
Often the Estimated Repair Cost is listed in the ads so you can look on that and sometimes a full repair report is there as well. I have access to a registered collision business in the USA and a dealer license so I can bid on and then repair the cars so they can be issued a REBUILT title so that they can be exported to Jamaica. You do the math with a rough estimate if the car+repair+shipping+duty is something you can afford often it is at minimum 35% cheaper than buying a car in Jamaica. You would pay me to bid on it and repair it. The car would be exported in your name, you would be responsible for making the shipping arrangements with Seaboard Marine roughly us $1700, customs broker fee, customs duty, trade board import license etc would be your responsibility as well. My fee for the bidding, transport from auction lot to my business place and repair is roughly usd $2000. This means for example 2014 Honda Civic average auction price $5000, repair cost $3,500, my fee $2,000, shipping $1,700, all government duties, permits+broker fee roughly $350,000.
