Hello Shopinja forum,

I think I am in the right place for finding out some info before jumping in and buy my first decent gaming computer. Like most people, I have had quite a few computers over the years but mostly for work or day to day minimal use. Due to a back injury, I have to take the next six months off work sitting up in a straight position. So, with my new found spare time I was looking into doing a little PC gaming but in all honesty, I have no idea what the specs are or what graphics cards I would be needing etc. I have an idea of the kind of games I would like to play, assuming this would help you guys help me. My budget is £800-£1000 maximum, so I think I have a little a are to play withAlos I am only familiar with the Windows operation system, Mac confuses the hell out of me. When receiving the PC I would like to be playing games like, Microsoft flight sim and GTA 5, these games having as awesome graphics as they do, I wouldn't want to purchase a computer that can not handle it.

I have already been online looking at some computers for sale and trying to match RAMs and graphics cards but I feel like I'm getting nowhere. Basically, like everyone else, I would like the best I can get for my money. 

To be honest it has been a long time since I last gamed on a PC so this will all be pretty new to me. Getting this all set up and running will be an awesome step into my recovery and maybe even the next step into never leaving my computers side again! But either way, I'm pretty excited to get on the PC gaming and I'm looking forward to some awesome advice and knowledge from you guys.

for 1080p gaming Get a GTX 1060 and a intel core i5 6600k 16gb of DDR4 RAM and supporting motherboard, at least a 600 what crossair power supply.

this setup can also support 4k gaming if you upgrade to a GTX 1070

Why not get a ps4 or Xbox one n 4K tv

console graphics can never compare to pc graphics plus consoles are not true 4k only upscaled 1080p

As IT engineer with over 14 years experience and being an avid Gamer both on PC and Console i would recommend you go with a console.

You don't seem to be a very technical person and it sounds like you are home to heal and not take on more stress.

Here is a break down:

Most would argue the benefits of better graphics of PC over Console and the fact that PC games aren't exclusive, they offer backward compatibility for older games.

This can turn out to be a technical nightmare when you have to spend time updating your graphics drivers or searching on forums to troubleshoot game breaks.

You also run the risk of purchasing games that have compatibility issues with your PC and It can end up costing you twice as much for a proper PC than it is to buy a Console.

The best thing about a console is that you can begin playing immediately out of box with little or no technical knowledge. ( No Major OS to configure or Game to install)

A Console game can easily be played on a couch with friends rather than a PC which will require additional Configuration.

What you need to understand here is:
If you have limited Technical Knowledge it will take some time and stress before you can start enjoying your PC game keeping in mind that you will have to spend more simply because PC parts are not cheap.
If you just want to play stress free games while you heal then go for the console and get a PC only when you feel you can tackle the challenges that comes with it.
