I don't see what is so hard to understand.  One car is valued more than the other.  @mickypatt: Price vs. value? Of what? :wtf: The price and value of the BMW are the same.  A 2004/2005 Civic is required in return. That is the trade ...., the difference then borne by the seller of the Civic. Capiche?  :sh:

wattttttttt lolololol a history this in the year of our lord 2016 a 2004 bmw e46 318i values 1.2plus million. no disrespect its you car to sell for what ever you want but that price or value is totally ridiculous and impossible :ls: e36 sell anywhere between 500k-900k depending on year mileage feature accident history and overall condition. so to even get 900k the vehicle must be immaculate.

@ CarNationJa: They stopped making E 36 in 1999. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BMW_3_Series_(E36)
To compare a 2004 E46 to an obsolete E36 (up to 900K - the top end, which you clearly made mention of in your posting, depending on mileage, condition, etc.) prior to any year before 1999 is ridiculous. http://www.automobile-catalog.com/make/bmw/3-series_e46/3-series_e46-2_sedan/2004.html  So, by your own assessment of up to 900K for an obsolete model, a 2004 would logically be more, and of course, all depends on a number of factors, i.e. mileage, condition, etc.

Specs:
BMW 318i Steptronic, manufactured or sold in 2004, version for Europe
4-door sedan body type
RWD (rear-wheel drive), automatic 5-speed gearbox (with Steptronic manual shift mode)
petrol (gasoline) engine with displacement: 1995 cm3 / 121.8 cui, advertised power: 105 kW / 141 hp / 143 PS ( ECE ), Torque net: 200 Nm / 147 lb-ft
characteristic dimensions: outside length: 4471 mm / 176 in, wheelbase: 2725 mm / 107.3 in
reference weights: base curb weight: 1360 kg / 2998 lbs, gross weight GVWR: 1860 kg / 4101 lbs
how fast is this car ? top speed: 214 km/h (133 mph) (declared by factory);
accelerations: 0- 60 mph 9.6 s, 0- 100 km/h 10.2 s (declared by factory), 1/4 mile drag time (402 m) 17 s (simulation ©automobile-catalog.com)
fuel consumption and mileage: 8.1 l/100km / 34.9 mpg (imp.) / 29 mpg (U.S.) / 12.3 km/l average estimated by a-c: 9.9 l/100km / 28.7 mpg (imp.) / 23.8 mpg (U.S.) / 10.1 km/l

Comparison between 318i Steptronic and 32Oi Steptronic http://www.automobile-catalog.com/auta_cmp2.php
What is the difference between BMW 318i, 320i, 325i etc? - Motor Vehicle Maintenance & Repair Stack Exchange (http://mechanics.stackexchange.com/questions/6154/what-is-the-difference-between-bmw-318i-320i-325i-etc)
Letter "i" indicates the car is fueled with gasoline, letter "d" indicates it should be fuelled with diesel. Additional letter "L" informs that this model is longer than regular ones (usually series 7 have a "long" attribute). ***Letter "M" indicates you are dealing with model equipped with "M" packet (special sport engine, different wheels, different brakes, more power, different interior equipment).**** This 318i has a 4-cylinder 2.0L engine, 1998 cc to be exact (all it took is a little time and research). Try wikipedia page https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BMW_3_Series_%28E46%29#320

In fact there is a 2005 BMW 320i elsewhere for $1,200,000, and a 2006 BMW 320i for $1,400,000 (and while that is a 320i, a 2.2 L); A 318i is $1,600,000 (Tiptronic), so I have to question what you really know about BMWs at all!  YES! This is 2016 A.D. (Anno Domini) and it clear you have nothing to do, but troll and criticize without sufficient knowledge or background information at your disposal, and I am sure you aren´t buying!!!  So,  :wtf: :cen: :kik:

lolololol all of that technical date real means nothing in the jamaican european cars market. and yes with all respect you do have the right to advertise for any price you want no matter how ridiculous it is. but one thing i know for sure that e46 will not sell for 1.2 million nor does it values 1.2million i by and sell cars every day so believe that. anyway good luck on your sale

@ CarNationJa  :tdn: :tdn: (rating -5) :st:

So if you are not buying, what is your problem?  Are you policing this particular thread and being judge, jury and executioner?  There are 211 pages within this forum alone that you can peruse the value of cars, so take a hike! You quoted ".... a norm in Jamaica for a car to sell for 15-40% less than its value" unquote is a figment of your imagination!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (You have some ulterior motive, or you are simply trolling around with nothing to do with your life!).  I ask you again, if you are not buying, what is your interest in this particular topic?  Put that in your pipe and smoke it ... whatever you are smoking!  :ras:

@ CarNationJa or whatever your name is!  BTW, the previous user's name is flux2001 in case you can't read.  Further, posting here on this thread about another car which has no bearing on the titled post is inappropriate.  Why don't you knock it off because you are not proving a point, but rather all your posts are full of grammatical errors, among other poorly written phrases, which makes it near impossible to understand anything you say, and personally, I don't want to understand anything you have to say, as you are rude and insulting.  So if you're not trying to buy any one of the cars mentioned in this posting, what is it to you?  Find something constructive to do and move on, and while you are at it, you could try to write properly and be pleasant!  If you think for one moment that readers are impressed with your knowledge, or better said, and IMO, your lack thereof, then think again!

Vexed?  No, highly amused at your ignorance!  It isn't worth my time correcting your grammar or spelling as you will never learn.  Some don't have the mental capacity, or the inclination to want to improve themselves.
