I am seeking writers for a startup online magazine that focuses on local issues. The contributions will be voluntary in the short term, however as the project gains popularity and content ways of generating revenue will be added.

The magazine will seek to target local 'grass root' stories ranging from community issues to local inventions, businesses and historical locations, basically anything Jamaica related that can give a good read.

Who am I?
I am a young journalist who have had experience with working for two online publications and one printed in the last three years. I try to seek out ways of creating businesses by targetting niche areas that are underserved in the market.

What are the requirement to be apart of you on line magazine ?

Well what I am looking for initially are dedicated persons with a passion for writing looking to enter into the field of journalism. If your career path is journalism it will be even better for you since you will earn valuable experience and gain knowledge of some of the new breaking grounds of journalism, many of which are now being slowly adapted by elderly newspapers.

* Requirements are atleast 5 subs(exceptions will be made if good qualities are shown)
*Good writing and narrative skills
* experience in editing(it can be just editing your school newspaper or website, that's still of value)

'Your are the one' do you speak German? I noticed that you wrote in German at the bottom of your post. I do have experience writing press releases and other content. You say that we wont be compensated initially for our contribution but will the writer be recognized in the magazine for having contributed?

Yes I can speak german, I am jamaican though it's just one of my second languages.
Each person will have his/her name beside their article.

There is a March 7 deadline for this.

I would love to have an opportunity to voice my opinions and the opinions of my peers on certain social issues. I think this would be a great and possibly rewarding avenue for showcasing the views of the average Jamaican. Please let me know if it is possible for me to be enlisted as a writer for your magazine. It would be greatly appreciated.
