Check out the Gleaner website's Classifieds and Career section. Join Splash.com Networking is your best friend. Tell EVERYONE you know you are job hunting. Even ex's (it works unless the breakup was bad). ::) Somebody may know of something .... Create a "power resume" and cover letter (get help from a pro if needed) and "flood" (send them to many businesses ... even ones you're not really interested in). Have a few references available in case they are requested (make sure you ASK them to use them as references). Send as many as possible. Dont just think "I want a job in Kgn only" you have to be willing to go where the work is .... Register with the Ministry of Labour. Post "job wanted" ads on any notice board you can with your contacts. The police station and post office is good for this. Apply to a college or university. Having CXCs is great but a Diploma, Assoc. Degree or a Degree is a good thing to have these days. Apply to HEART!! Having a skill and the certification to back it up is just as good as a degree. The courses are short and are cheap. Its your best friend trust me ... And last but not least: Please research "business attire" so you can dress for success!! Dress and decorum can determine whether you get a job or not.
