Title: Latitude d600 booting problem

i have a dell latitude d600 nn when i start it up it says no bootable devices detected. i proceed to reinstall windows n the first part of the installation goes well and when the system is to restart again to complete the other parts of the installation it still says no bootable devices detected? can any1 fix this?? or have any idea what's wrong?

i have on e of these but unlike u.... the HD is not even being seeen in the bios......

so no boot device whatsoever.....

what u can try n do is update or flash the bios.......


tried that with mine n nothing yet though..
im here wondering if its more a hardware issue now

just spoke with a computer guy n he said my hard drive needs to be changed most likely..i think u need to do the same

i did try all the already still... lol

wont hurt to try again though

but the hd thats in my d600 works in my other laptop n also when i connect it to desktop

Doesnt mean your hard drive needs to be changed

there are many settings in your bios. This could be a case where your hard drive was disabled in the bios.

meaning you have you USB, and CD Rom enabled for booting purposes. you may need to browse around in your bios.

i had one of these and this is a simple fix

yeah mr genius is correct on em things as well.....

i have two of em though... one of em is locked via bios password............. need to flash that one strightt o clear it n so forth...

Ok the one that is locked with the password ease fix. you can do what i call board jump. lol board jump.

But lock bios is simple done that many times

other one you can simply look carefully in your bios settings you should see the option to enable/disable you hard drive.

you could take it and i give you quick analyst.

havent tried resetting with pins on laptop board n further more i do not se eany pinss to set on that board in particular.......

ma harddrive isn't disabled.. but what i doe get is..even if it is a hard drive problem where did the data from the windows cd end up?? cuz when i go into the utilities it picks up my primary disk as the 80gigs it is

yes it will show you the hard drive info but you need to check if the booting of the hard drive is enabled

Here what you do press F12 on startup and tell me if you see the hard drive there as an option
