Title: Competent & professional technician needed Post by: pimp_mentality on October 15, 2013, 08:20:01 PM As the topic states I would like a competent technician to examine my laptop which has been acting up lately. I have met so called technicians who claimed to be competent by I seem to know more than them :D.
I just want to make sure that who ever opens up my machine knows what they doing. So send me the link if you are, or knows someone who is such a person. :dru: Title: Re: Competent and p technician needed to examine by lap top Post by: techsteve_genius on October 15, 2013, 08:39:02 PM What's the problem please give brand and model

I have a Dell XPS L501x about three days ago I spilled some water on the key board and screen (I was moving it while it was opened up so the keyboard and screen was exposed). I plugged it out wiped it down and opened up the front plate wiped all the droplets I could see, got my blow dryer and blew it out and even put my fan on it for couple hours. Oh, while reacting to the spill i hit the machine on the edge of a table so a small piece of the bottom left edge of the machine chipped off. Anyway the next day I turned it on and I heard a weird static sound coming from the left speaker (right speaker is OK and woofer is OK hearing sound clearly from them and incidentally that's the side with the chip). The thing is the machine boots up as per normal, runs OK, programs and all, but any time it does anything requiring sound the weird loud static like sound is coming from the said left speaker then stops about 10 - 15 seconds after the activity involving sound. I figured it may be a speaker issue so I muted the speaker, loud static sound still persists, I use the headphone jack but sound still persists. So there you have it. I am stumped and i don't want to keep turning on the machine not knowing what is causing the sound for fair of creating another problem or causing this problem to get worse. I love this machine and have so many things on it that i would be a wreck if something catastrophic happened to it. So again I would love a professional technician, that isn't gonna charge me an arm and a leg to have a look and hopefully solve this issue.
