I have a HP ProBook 5330m laptop. I have replaced the battery (http://www.caccu.nl/hp-probook-5330m-batterij.html) and the charger. While the

laptop will run on AC power it will not charge the battery. It says plugged in not charging.

If I restart the laptop I get an error screen that says the charger is not recognized. Is

there a solution to this? I know there is an identification pin in the plug end of the charger

and it is still there.

you have a dead charging circuit and if you get a charged battery it might not power from battery either it can be repaired $5000 to get it up and running again

Once you get the message "Charger not recognised" you should know that the charger is defective or incompatible.

HP/Compaq notebooks work with Genuine HP smart adapters.  Other brand chargers that can fit into the port might not be able to charge the battery.

Please try the notebook with a genuine HP adapter.  Guaranteed local sources of Genuine HP adapters include The HP Store in Tropical Plaza or Al's Laptop Repairs in Southdale Plaza.

contact me, Ill take a look at it, i its not the chargers problem then and its a board problem I can sort it out

So much good technicians here i do agree tho and i would recommend the first option to test it with a genuine HP product Charger as not everything that say HP means its the real deal
