Title: 9810 not going to landscape mode Post by: Dw@_Rich on December 19, 2012, 11:05:25 PM so i just changed my 9810 to a 9800 housing, but before i had done so, whenever i slid the slider up then down, the phone would sometimes recognize that the phone slider is closed, but as soon as i squeeze the bottom of the screen, the functions goes back to normal (including showing the landscape keyboard).
After i hanged the housing, i notice, it doesnt recognise that the phone is slid down NON AT ALL. >:( :wtf: so i went on a rampant search for a solution and this is what i found TAKEN FROM A WEBSITES I did some tinkering with the 9810 over the last several days, and if you put a strong magnet (ceramic, not flexible rubber) near the virtual keyboard icon (often grayed out for me, even with the slide closed) the keyboard icon will enable (turn white). Example: I went to an existing text or email message and hit reply, then place the magnet near the on screen virtual KB icon, ad it turns white (enable) every time. This suggests to me, that the magnetic "switch" is too far from the magnet in the slider (or vice versa). Anyone taken the screen/slide assembly apart & know what the sensor & magnet look like & how they are mounted? Has hamilgs suggested In order of solving this problem you must change the magnet situate on the slide mechanism! I couldn’t find any other solution, only this work for me! And I’m sure it will work for other whit the same problem ... The phone must be dismount! If you aren’t confident in doing it don't! otherwise you will easily end up with a broken digitizer!! The virtual keyboard and screen doesn’t work because the phone think that hi is open, (slide up)….The magnet for same reason has become demagnetized and it doesn’t detect when the phone is close, that’s the reason why it doesn’t rotate and the keyboard doesn’t show up Anyone else seem to have this problem? |
