No one buys BNIB items from ebay especially American, they run off MSRP if it is worth 499$ in most cases they won't buy any higher than that unless they can't find one in months. The one reason someone will buy BNIB if it is a collector's edition which has a limited amount made( 1000 or 5000 or less)

I've heard it's sold out everywhere, might have supn' to do with it. Price may be legit at this point in time

Last I check everything you buy in a store is BNIB.  And if you are going to buy something why not BNIB?

Last I check someone can't read, of course you buy from a store you do it BNIB but most stores physical or digital they have a standardize price that they run from MSRP, yes you do have one or two stores that sell a bit cheaper or bit more(given or take 20-30USD) but most sell for what the MSRP is, this applies to tech to firearms and ammunition.
The point is if MSRP is 499$ most will wait till the prices are close to that even if stocks are low and prices go up because of supply and demand( in the case of PS5/Series X/Iphone 12 its a new product), unless you are content creator/reviewer/streamer buying one now at the hiked up price is meaningless.

Look up gouging...as well.

Here is the thing with jamaicans in general.  They will hustle a man selling 100$ bananas on the side of the road for whatever reason.  But when them JPS or internet bill comes they pay that stuff quick and fast because they want to use their 80k tv and 100k iphone to play 2$ games and watch 8$ netflix.  People spend their money the way they want but most times the people who price gouging are selling to people who can afford to buy it - not people who poor+boosy.  Save your money people!  Anyone who rushing to play bugsnacks early deserves whatever price they get.  What other option they have?  they could buy a ticket and fly to florida, get some solar panels and satellite internet.
