“I am delighted to win this prestigious award and would like to thank everyone who voted for me,” said Bolt, who performed his trademark celebration, a lightning-like gesture with his arms.

“It is an honour to succeed such greats as multiple winner Roger Federer, Michael Schumacher, Lance Armstrong and Tiger Woods.”

He received the award from Laureus World Sports Academy member Michael Johnson, who set the previous record in the 200m (19.32secs) at the 1996 Olympics.

The day turned out to be a good day for racing, when i reached the event it seemed as if rain would have posed a problem, but fortunately the rains held up. Overall it was a good day of racing, well for me a good half day of racing as i got to the event rather late, so i only managed to see a few final races, but non the less got my monies worth. Unfortunately for a few drivers the day ended not so good due to some car problems, but as always these guys will be back at it next time around. Most of my time was spent taking photo and video footage, Below you can find my set of Photos (108 pics) and a 9+ Min Vid… Enjoy

Bolt and Gay won’t meet before July

World record holder Usain Bolt has expressed his desire to meet world 100 meters champion Tyson Gay. It however seem as though Bolt will have to wait until July, as Gay has decided not to complete in Sunday’s Prefontaine Classic and likely will not run again until the U.S. championship in late June, according to Gene Cherry of Reuters.

Gay’s agent Mark Wetmore believes it was “slightly unrealistic to think that Gay could recover that fast, after clocking 19.58 seconds, the third fastest 200 meters of all-time, at last weekend’s New York grand prix. There is absolutely no injury. Gay probably will not run again until the June 25-28 U.S. nationals in Eugene.

“I definitely want to meet Tyson before, to see where I’m at or what I need to do if he beats me. He shook off some injuries, took his time and got back on track and worked his way back up and he is now showing that he is one of the best athletes in the world,” Bolt told Reuters in Jamaica.
