With google arguably being the most popular search engine in the world, other top companies have come to realise that to have a great web presence you need a great search engine, currently Yahoo and Microsoft’s search engine are OK, but that’s just it, they are not great, so they will always be over powered by the big mighty google. recently a new search engine was launched by the name of wolfram-alpha which looks to be a very promising search engine.
Not to be left in the dark, Microsoft was launched what hopes to be thier great search engine, Called BING.
Notable improvements in general searches include the addition of related searches (called “Explorer pane” on the left side of search results) based on semantic technology from PowerSet, a search company Microsoft purchased in 2008, search suggestions as you type, and the ability to keep track of your search history.
